Andy Reynolds has been the Head Director for Waxahachie HS for the past 24 years directing over 110 productions. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BFA in Theatre Arts in Acting & Directing. He has brought home 22 District, 14 Area and 8 Regional championships with eight State appearances with four of them placing in the top 3 at the UIL State OAP Contest. He is also a TTAO Certified UIL Contest Manager with over two dozen contests managed. During the past 14 years, the WHS Musical Theatre Dept. has been nominated for Best Musical at the Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theater Awards (formerly Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Awards) ten times, winning the coveted prize of Best Musical in 2016 (SPAMALOT) and in 2021 (MATILDA). He also won for Best Direction in 2014, 2021, and 2025. In 2019 Mr. Reynolds was the recipient of the first ever DSM Outstanding Educator Award. Mr. Reynolds has also had the great honor of being a guest director at Texas A&M Corpus Christie CAMP ON THE COAST during the summer of 2023, 2024 and 2025. He would like to thank the WISD Administration for the support for the Fine Arts in our district! He would also like to recognize the love he feels every day from his wife, Melanie and his 3 children, Caleb, Noah and Sophia.
Ryan Mullican has been a Theater Arts teacher for 24 years. Since 2007 head worked alongside Andy Reynolds building this beautiful Theatre Department. With the addition of Paula Myers and most recently Kaiden Mains we now have The Dream Team of Texas high school Theatre! Together we have continued growing this exceptional Theater troupe into what it is today. He is filled with pride and and excitement about what the future holds for WHS Drama. Mr. Mullican received his BFA with an emphasis in performance from UT Arlington and has continued to enthusiastically act, direct, film, and create since his graduation in 1999. Proud father of his three beautiful children. Turney Burney, Silve the Angel, and Davis, the Baby!!! :)
Paula Myers has a lifelong love of theatre. Now in her 28th year teaching, she has been blessed to work with her outstanding colleagues at WHS for the past 10 years. The "Dream Team" was recently taken up a notch with the addition of Kaiden Maines. Mrs. Myers earned her Bachelors degree at the University of Toledo and completed her Meisner acting training through the True Acting Institute in Salem, Oregon. In 2021-2022 she was recognized as an NBC 5/SMU Excellent Educator. Her costume work has been recognized numerous times via nominations from Broadway Dallas and the Betty Buckley awards, as well as winning Best Costume Design for Mary Poppins. She teaches Costume Construction, Technical Theatre, and Theatre Arts 1, and is artistic director and costumer for many WHS shows. Paula is also the director of Actors Studio and works with incoming actors to grow their talent. She is married to the love of her life, Kevin Myers, and is grateful for his support (and willingness to swing a hammer on a set when needed).
This is Kaiden's third year as a Director at Waxahachie High School, but she is no stranger to Waxahachie. Kaiden was a graduate of WHS in 2016 and as a member of the department, Kaiden was part of the 2015 and 2016 UIL One Act Play teams with state appearances as well as a part of the 2016 Dallas Summer Musicals Best Musical, Spamalot. Kaiden was honored to win the 2015 UIL 5A state Best Actress award as Mary Patterson in Anatomies and the 2016 DSM Best Actress award as Lady of the Lake in Spamalot. After graduating from Oklahoma City University, Kaiden became the head theatre Director at Blooming Grove High School where she made 2 state appearances. The first in 2021 placing first runner-up to the state champion and another state appearance the following year. Kaiden is more than thrilled to be back home. She feels incredibly blessed to be alive and grateful for every opportunity that comes her way.
Carrie Forehand has been a choral music educator for the past 26 years and is enjoying her sixth year being a member of the award winning Waxahachie Fine Arts department. She earned a Bachelor of Music from Tarleton State and a Master of Music in Music Education from Kent State University. She developed her love of musicals in college where she played Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors, and Anne in 1940’s Radio Hour. Throughout her career she has been a musical director for multiple high school and regional summer musicals. Her most memorable shows to date were, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Tarzan, Into the Woods, and Matilda. When she is not at school, she loves spending time with her amazing husband, Brad, and their two teenage sons, Aiden and Calvin.
Nathan Eggen is the Assistant Choir Director of Waxahachie High School. He has enjoyed 7 years of teaching and is entering his second year at Waxahachie High School. Under the care and guidance of Carrie Forehand and Andy Reynolds, his teaching has grown immensely! This year he takes on the roles of Musical Theater Music Director and AP Music Theory Teacher. His teaching style is one centered around respect, connection, and a love for singing with excellence. Nathan has been involved with many musical theater and operatic performances. His favorite role was playing the Baker in Sondheim’s musical, “Into the Woods.” He enjoys spending time with his wife, Lynzee, time with friends, playing with his two puppies and kitten, playing guitar, and playing card games.
